What is a lace wig?

What is a lace wig or full lace wig?  Well as the name states a lace wig is a wig made with a lace base. When applied with adhesive or tape, the unit appears to be growing directly from the scalp. Full lace caps are so versatile that it can be worn in a high ponytail or any updo hairstyle. The hair can be dyed, curled and flat ironed. It never looks like a wig.

lace wigs are made by inserting strands of hairs in to the lace cap, this is a time consuming and delicate process and can take up to 5wks to make one unit as this is done by hand!!!.

Hence why they cost alot more than regular wigs.

Where to buy Lace Wigs in London

Lace wigs are slowly getting more popular in UK, especially London.

Various hair shops now stock lace wigs and authentic human hair, but a vast number are selling hairs which are not real human hair .

But how do you know you are buying a good quality lace wig from a reputable vendor.

  • Firstly the cost will tell you, if you see a full lace wig sold for less than 100pounds then it obviously fake or may be a lace front wig not a full lace wig.
  • If you are buying online always check the review or testimonial of the company.       Do a search on Google or Yahoo on the company.
  • If you are buying from a physical shop note what they say is 100% human hair isnt always, for example Premium Sensational  brand sells weave and lace front wigs which is labelled 100% human hair but it is not as it is mixed with some synthetic fibre hair , which is why they are not reusable and tends to matte and tangle after a month or two of usage.
  • So make sure you make them aware that you want real human hair which is called Remy Human hair.
  • Best to buy virgin hairs which comes in their natural colour and dye it to your preferred colour your self
  • Most websites that use celebrity picture as what they are selling and also not putting the picture of the actual wig you are buying, stay away as you will most likely  not get what you have imagined. If you still want to go ahead and place an order ask for pictures of the wig.

Are Men really bothered about Womens Makeup and Hair

What women usually fuss about in regards to makeup and touch ups really doesn’t matter to most men.

Lipstick

Bright lipstick, the Reds and bright colours are commonly used by ladies when they are going on a date or out to a club, thinking it might attract attention their way.

Mens Verdict

Men say the likelihood of the lipstick ending up on their person or shirt, just puts them off. Plus red lipstick signifies you are trying to hide something or get  attention which they are not comfortable with.

Conclusion

So women, lipsticks are good. Choose a colour that compliments your natural tones like light brown or light pink. Simple is key.

Foundation

Most women spend a lot of time trying to take the shine off their faces by applying foundation. This is because women think that men like a shine free face, hence the foundation touch for the noses.

Mens Verdict:

I hate to disappoint but the truth is Men dont notice a shiny skin ever but will notice only if you have a rash or your skin has some kind of ailment.

But not to worry, this will still not deter them from asking you out on a date.

Conclusion:

Don’t fuss over the oiliness of your face. That is a good thing. Should you be having a skin problem such as acne, do visit a dermatologist who will be able to sort your skin out. Bottom line, if a guy likes you, your skin condition is secondary!

Blotched Eyepencil or Masacara

Mascara and eyepencil are used to highlight the eyes making them pop and look even more enticing. However, most women are casualties to the smudge effect and are usually at pains to prevent this as much as possible.
Am sure many have seen that when a woman cries she will only wipe the edge of the eyes (very carefully) so as not to mess up the mascara or eye pencil.

Mens Verdict:

Men do notice that your mascara or eyepencil has smudged but to them this makes you more real and approachable! They will however notice if your eyes are tired, puffy, have an infection, or are blood shot. This is usually not attractive or tells them that something is wrong.

Conclusion

Smudge or not, will not deter a man from proposing a date. Don’t sweat the small stuff. It is highly unlikely a man will notice anything if your personality and aura is awesome.

Smoky eye look

Latest trends show that the smokey eye look is being worn by mostly the young teens and adults. It is the darkening of the eye lids and eye bags with a dark eye liner so that the whole eye is black.

Mens Verdict:

Most men, would not go anywhere near a woman wearing this, unless they are practising goths. Their logic is why would any man ask out a girl whose eyeballs you can’t even see because of all the makeup around it?

Conclusion

Too much is always a no. Don’t make the makeup the highlight of you and forget that you were supposed to be the highlight.

Messy Hair and Weaves

This is why many women spend so much money on trying to perfect their hair, making it neat and proper. This is what guys like, yes?

Mens Verdict

Men couldn’t care less if your natural hair is perfectly neat all the time. In fact, a not so perfect head can show that you are a relaxed and approachable person.

However if your hair is very damaged, receding hairline and cutting they might notice.
This however was the biggest hate clause for men; Weaves. They abhorred, hated the weaves, no matter how well it was done, they hated them. For them, weaves hides the true person from them and they complained that most look so hideous; giving the idea that the weaves were a separate entity from the person.

Quoted: ‘If women are not real with us, how can they demand us to be real with them?’

Conclusion:

According to men, women need to be natural. As one man said, women are not billboards that we need to have an idea of what we are about to get. They need to stop being superficial as men don’t go for aesthetics but for class.

Well you have heard it. So please do comment below on what you think.

How to Spot Fake Human Hair

What I do know is that, fake weaves are cheap, have a mixture of synthetic and human hair and if it is human, the hair is of very bad quality that frizzles after a few days leaving a big tangled mop.

Here are a few tips I found that might come in handy:

  1. Research! Please ask around from friends, TRUSTED salonists and buy from reputable suppliers. So many in the market are offering cheap weaves all claiming to be Yaki or Remi and they greatly disappoint.Remember cheap is always expensive so if it is too cheap, think twice!
  2. Check the fiber, if it is a mixture of synthetic and hair, you would know. Most stylist say, the best way to test it out is to use a flat iron on the weave. If it burns, then it is very fake. Also the smell of burning hair will help you tell whether it is real or not.
  3. Many human hair weaves use bad quality hair and this type usually goes bad after a few days. To spot these bad qualities, avoid labels that are not known, and are claiming to be a Yaki or a Remi.

Remi is usually the best as they come in virgin unprocessed hair and processed hair. This means that they last longer and can be used for up to 3 times.

Yes, it is difficult to know exactly what you are buying when it’s so nicely packaged but should you decide to buy, please do try Remi. (goddess type – made by Sensationnel). Let me explain below why….

What is Remi?

Remi unlike Yaki is a method or process of making weaves. They do this by collecting hair from donors ensuring that the cuticles of the hair are not stripped. Also with Remi, the hair is aligned in one direction making the hair flow smoother.

Remi hair weave resists tangling, and maintains its look for a much longer period of time.

Types of Hair Weaves in the market

Indian Hair Weaves

This comes from the women of India, or Pakistan. Indian Remi is the most popular since it comes in a variety of colors and lengths. Indian hair is also known and preferred owing to its versatility and thick texture. It can be straight, wavy and quite curly.

Brazilian Hair Weaves

This is my favorite. They are usually thick, wavy, very fine, soft and comes in a variety of colours. They are also very easy to manage and can be easily styled. Brazilian hair is usually more expensive than Chinese or Indian Hair which are usually more common.

Malaysian Hair Weaves

Malaysian hair weaves are usually very soft and silky and have a great variety of colour unlike Chinese hair. Malaysian hair is known to be very straight and fine. Africans love these as they are very easy to manage due to its straight nature.

Chinese Hair Weaves

Chinese Hair is the one commonly found in the market. Their hair is usually very coarse and straight. Some people have issues with Chinese hair weaves owing to the techniques used to get the strands and hair. Chinese hair weaves is usually dipped in an acid bath to make it more thinner and straight. This means that this type of hair never lasts long and frizzles quite easily.

European Hair Weaves

This type of hair is very rare as most Europeans are not keen on cutting and selling off their hair. Any blonde, Red head or Sandy coloured weaves claiming to be European have to have originated from one of the European countries. Anything else, is usually dyed Chinese hair and not good. European hair tends to be quite expensive.

How to tell Real Virgin Hair

When Indian Remy is washed a black dye comes out. If you see this dye when washing Virgin Indian Remy or any other Virgin Hair it is NOT Virgin Hair.  Some companies try to sell hair to customers that is not Virgin claiming that it is.

With so many brands claiming to have Virgin Remy hair and with the hefty price tag that the label carries, it is important to be able to tell if the hair you are purchasing truly is 100% Virgin Remy Hair. At its most basic level, the term “remy” is used to describe hair that has been selected root end first from one single donor. The cuticles are kept intact and each hair strand is facing one direction.

Remy hair is also often referred to as “cuticle hair”. In its simplest form, “virgin” describes hair that has never been processed. It is free from any chemicals such as relaxer, perm, silicones, colors and dyes. Virgin Remy is the purest form available: a combination of unprocessed hair with its cuticles intact.

Virgin Remy hair has not been chemically treated or colored. It comes in natural black  1b and brown similar to colour 2 and light brown similar to colour 3 or 4. This brings me to one of the very first ways to tell true virgin remy hair: the color. The color of virgin Indian Remy is that of the natural hair color of the donor. While it is true that this can be a range of natural black and browns, it is often a medium brown  Also, the color will not be uniform throughout the entire bundle. There will be different natural highlights both lighter and darker than that of the primary color. In addition, there will normally be strands of grey hair throughout the package.

The second way to ensure that you are purchasing true Virgin Indian Remy hair: the hair grade and texture. Virgin Indian Remy hair is not extremely silky or straight. It has a coarser more yaki-like texture that blends and looks more similar to that of women of color. Non virgin hair is often treated with silicones and coated with a chemical straightener. This often gives it an overly silky and straight feeling. When you run your fingers across non virgin hair you can often feel this extra layer of coating. An important test of the authenticity of hair is how it responds when wet. Non virgin hair often gets heavy when wet. Virgin hair will regain its natural curl or wave pattern when wet. And upon drying it will often be lighter or less weighty than it was when dry. This is often due to the fact that dirt and product buildup was removed when it was wet. It is important to keep in mind that just because hair gets wavy or curly when wet, that does not mean that it is virgin Remy hair. There are a number of lines that offer wet and wavy hair that is neither virgin nor Remy. In conclusion, Virgin Indian Remy hair can be a great investment. Its natural luster, shine and texture blend perfectly with most natural hair types. They also offer a versatility and quality that is unparalleled in any other form of hair. With maintenance it can last month after month without matting or tangling. However, if you are going to spend your money making this purchase it is important to ensure that you are getting authentic virgin Indian Remy hair!!!

1.)Don’t push lace down with your fingers into the glue. The hair will stick and get matted up. Use the teeth of of wide tooth comb and press it flat against your scalp.

2.)Don’t reapply glue to area with glue already, the glue will not stick to an old previously glued surface. Area must be cleaned first, then reapply.
